Notes

Three new species of tubificids are described from Lake Baikal. Tasserkidrilus timmi sp. n. differs in having a distinctive setal apparatus, has 2-3 lumbricine setae per bundle and has the rudiment of the proximal tooth situated low on the anteclitellar segments. T. heterodontus sp. n. and T. rectitubifer sp. n. are characterized by having the teeth of bifid seta with a different length on the anteclitellar segments; the teeth gradually become longer from the inner to the outer setae in the same bundle and, in addition, the length of the teeth increases from segment II to VII. Unlike T. heterodontus, T. rectitubifer has no single-tipped setae on the anterior segments, and the number of setae per bundle is greater. Its tubelike penial sheath is straight and shorter than that of T. heterodontus. Based on the structure of the reproductive organs, the three new species are close to the Lake Baikal endemic, Tasserkidrilus mirandus (Snimschikova).
