[ref. ID; 6725]
Test system
In vitro and in vivo genotoxicity assessment (comet assay)
Strains
Adult health worms with well-developed clitellum (average weight ~0.250-0.300 g).
Toxicants
Potassium dichromate (Cr(IV): 1, 3, 10,30, 70 and 100 ppm).
Test design
- In vitro exposure: Extruded coelomocytes were exposed Cr(VI) in micro-centrifuge tubes on ice for 1 hr in dark. Six replicates.
- In vivo exposure: 15 earthworms were exposed for 14 days (OECD guideline, 1984). 12:12 hr dark and light cycle.
Measurements/observations
DNA damage.
