4th International Forum on Sustainable Future in Asia

January 23 – 24, 2019, at Pan Pacific Hanoi, Vietnam

With the adoption of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement, the world is shifting increasingly toward building a sustainable society. Sustainable development in Asia is indispensable to achieving the SDGs and goals of the Paris Agreement.

This year’s Forum focused on four key issues in Asia—flood risk and waste management, environmental change and adaptation strategies in the Mekong River watershed, improving public health through environmental research, and sustainable development in Asia. NIES researchers and experts from other Asian countries presented their research results and discussed solutions to environmental issues in Asia and approaches to ensuring the region’s sustainable future.
